I have been woodworking as a hobby (and for necessity) for more than 30 years, creating hand crafted items only for friends and family. In 2004, we decided to “test the market” to see if custom woodworking was a craft still admired by you, the consumer. Our first show was an outdoor event held in beautiful Merrickville, Ontario and was a huge success! A few more custom orders at shows from Cornwall to Ottawa to Kingston prompted us to create Hilltop Wood Design!

I enjoy incorporating exotic, naturally colorful woods into my designs – whether it be a small diamond or heart shaped inlay or larger panels to shake up a traditional blanket box design – the contrast in different types of high quality wood make each and every item unique to your personal tastes. Many hours are spent paying particular attention to matching the grain and color tones of all of the pieces. All items are constructed using time honored joinery techniques to ensure that the piece is both pleasing to look at and durable for generations to come.

Most often, our clients know they want “something”, but just can’t quite put their finger on it. We will come into your home and help to either match an existing item, or create your new furniture to reflect your ideas and decorating touches.
